We live in a terraced house and hour neighbour works in the theathre business and usually is awake during night and sleeps day. His dog of course has same routine.

His kitchen doore to garden is just below our bedroom window.

He lets his dog in the garden for poo and wee.

Every one to two hours from 12 in the evening till about 5 in the morning this is the routine:

WOOOF WOOF door opens dog gets out. Does his business within 1 minute then runs back to door and barks madly until door opens.

Each time we all wake up with a jump!!!!

Is it unreasonable to ask him to at least leave the door open for 1 minute so dog doesnt have to bark on way in????

nope definately not unreasonable, if he doesn't agree to what you just suggested then he is an arse! I live next door to a noisy dog but at least the noise stops at about 10pm

I used to have a dog myself and I DO understand that you cannot control when a dog barks! But REALLY leaving the door open for 30 seconds to 1 minute and save the barking....
