Thought I would get there early and kit the children out with sale stuff, how wrong was I!!

It started at 10am, I got there at 10.15am and 2-3, 3-4 and 7-8 stuff was decimated, nothing left whatsoever. Couldn't face the queue for the 1 pair of jeans I found for DH, which was stretching round the perimeter of the sports hall by this point, so I dumped my basket and left.

I expected a scrum but I didn't expect there to be NOTHING left at all fgs. Complete farce! I will stick to shopping online from now on I think!!

Anyone get any good bargains?

Is it on Sunday as well? Will they have anything left?

What were the prices like?

traceybath · 24/04/2010 18:33

Sounds dreadful but I'd have thought getting there early was getting there way before it opened.

Mad women in search of a boden bargain was never going to be pretty.

louloulouise · 24/04/2010 19:10

I think people probably did get there before it opened and just grabbed everything in the sizes they wanted as people were crouched over their baskets round the edges of the sports hall sorting out and dumping what they didn't want.

Prices were pretty much what they normally charge in their sales, brought them in line with Next new prices I would say.

I did toy with the idea of going back tomorrow morning early on, DH says I must be mad so I'm not going to bother.

This reminds me why I don't do sales. I find it an extremely unpleasant experience all round. (Well not as unpleasant as some things that could be extremely unpleasant but YKWIM!)

bramblebooks · 24/04/2010 19:17

I'm sorry you had a bad experience, but relieved I didn't do the hour's trip from my house. I was planning to arrive an hour before and queue, having been to one before- went to a party instead!

freelancescientist · 24/04/2010 20:44

We got there about 11.30 - less of a scrum but very little left in the kids sizes, and people had just dumped what they didn't want in the nearest box. Taking your money was VERY well organised though. I felt the staff could be doing more sorting the dumped stuff and stocking up, there were loads of people with Boden T shirts on, milling about.

Got some nice tops and a couple of dresses for me, though, and popped in to H&M at the Trafford Centre on the way home, bought a hug bag of kids clothes for £55....there is a lesson there I think!

moocowmrs · 24/04/2010 20:47

I thought it was quite well organised, I was just a little suprised at the lack of childrens stuff, but I did quite well so on the whole not too bad.

MadameCastafiore · 24/04/2010 20:48

YOu have to get there befor eit opens and queue up and run like hell as soon as the doors open - no good at all getting there any later!
