Was looking at suncream earlier for DS. It was £12 (£12! but that's another thread...). It was 'buy one get one free'. But I don't want two, I want one. Why not just sell them for £6 - tis the same difference surely? You'd probably shift more that way anyway. And do they order even numbers of everything on BOGOF deals? What if there's only one left? Why am I so bothered by this? I think I have supermarket madness.........!

Not really, but I've often wondered what it would be like to buy all available said cheeses and nothing else and then stand at the checkout with a grin and an outstretched hand.

Most people don't notice because the free money gets absorbed in their large bill, but it is very rare that the shelve-stackers update the computer to stop the said £2.50.

I might one day do it to a checkout person who I don't like and laugh at her staring at her til in disbelief.

Oh I know some people will take just one, but I'm presuming the purchasers in my hypothetical scenario are normal people who like a bargain.

There could just be one item left on the shelf if they purchase odd numbers of items, in fact it's even more likely that there will be so I don't quite understand that point.

I'm a sinner who just buys one of the BOGOFF.

WHY, WHY would I want BOGOF Levonelle?

WHY, WHY would I want BOGOF fresh dill?

WHY, WHY would I want BOGOF small bottle of water when I am out and about with no bag?

I always buy suncream as bogof, and usually two or three times during the season - almost nobody uses the correct amount of suncream and there is no way that one bottle of cream should last an adult the whole of the (even) british summer... To get the right amount of protection we should be using a small palmful per limb (and the same again on the torso), twice a day. And if you're looking at a two week foreign holiday you should be using a 200ml bottle per person per week...
