HI all

I dont know if i am or not tbh, i made arrangements with my youngest sister to go out for dinner today (with my ds in tow aswel), thought we would have a girly catchup as haven't properly spoke in ages, apart from 'how are you' texts.
Just had a text to see if my dh is coming aswel, he's at work so no, she then texts back well her fella is at home so will be coming also. Ive got nothing against him, he's nice enough but i just wanted it be me an my sister. Am i being unreasonable as i will be taking my ds (11 months)

Yes, the men can make sure you have a good catch-up instead of being constantly distracted by your DS.

Yea i suppose she could be thinking that, just feel a bit peeved.

I don't think yabu. I'd be irritated too. You can't have a proper girly catch up with her dp hanging around. Get him to take your DS for a walk whilst you gossip!

well i cancelled, been feeling rubbish about socialising anyway since ds was born esp when i haven't got my dh for moral support, i know it sounds petty as she is my sister but i just know we wouldn't have been able to have a proper 'girly' talk with her fella there. thanks for all your comments.

YANBU, I think this is the pits.

I would extend it beyond just men - if somebody says 'let's meet up for a good catch up' and you agree, then they invite somebody else of any gender then it is a total faux pas in my book.

I get to choose who I socialise with thanks, not who you decide to tick off your list on the same night.
