To have changed my mind and think motorists are actually quite a nice bunch?

I don't drive, so I've always looked on in amazement at the personality tranformation people seem to go through when they get in a car and drive.

In most drivers I'd encountered before it manifested itself in a snarling, aggressive, unpredictable, I'll-rip-your-bloody-head-off way.

But since having DD2 in the new year, I've been so surprised by the way, almost without exception, drivers will stop and let me cross the road with the pram. Even the much maligned yoofs will stop well back from a junction and wave me across

Was I being unreasonable to think driving made homicidal maniacs of you all? Or will my rose tinted glasses syndrome wear off once DD2 is out of the pram?

Actually having a baby with you seems to bring out the best in people in lots of situations, ime

er yes, I only give the verbal to those that deserve it; pedestrians walking in the road when there's a PERFECTLY serviceable path 2 feet away, other drives that seem unable to drive.... you get the idea!

the rest of the time, I wave most people across / let other vehicles out of sideroads if I am in a queue
