in wondering if this could be an addition to any parties political manifesto?

OK, I admit it isn't the best thing to do but it frequently happens in my home! We [sshhh] nearly always fall asleep with the tv on...... Infact the first thing that we do now is to put on the sleep mode especially if we are tired. However this doesn't always combat the fact that if you semi doze off (or actually at any time of day) when the adverts come on you are blasted awake again!!!!!

What is it? Why do adverts come on sooooo much louder than the actual programme? (to the point of waking up dozing family members however low the sound!)

It is immensely frustrating and I genuinely think that if a party put changing this on their political agenda I might consider voting for them!

Flippant I know, but frankly anyone I vote for is going to make cuts in spending somewhere and everywhere so I would like to vote for something that can easily be changed without much hassle (one would assume!)

Perhaps we could be offered a referendum on it?
