to leave the raincover in the porch to dry and expect it to be there a hour later?

I live in a normal suburban area, nothing fancy but not the getto either. I got caught in torential rain when I was out with the pram and when I got home, left the raincover of the pram in the porch to dry off, as there isn't anywhere in the house that it could dry. I went out to get it after a hour and someone has stolen it! FFS, how lightfingered is that! I am bloody furious as I had just bought the pram and new raincover the week before. I am unreasonable to expect it to still be there?

It has been terribly windy arround here, I do not know how it is arround youyr parts but I had to rescue a few of the clothes on my washing line that where just about to fly away. Might explain why your raincover has desappeared?

Just as well you didn't leave the pram...

My Mum left me in my pram outside a shop in a small provincial Irish town back in the early 70s. Some bastard stole the cot blanket..

i was not a very bonny baby!

YANBU we live in a similar sort of a place and out neighbour got their drainpipe nicked the other day... some idiot trying to take it to weigh it in, luckily he was seen as he'd been walking up and down the street looking in peoples gardens, andthe police were called

i did the same once but left my umbrella buggy in a little cubby hole near the front door - not visable when your just walking past btw.
went to put some rubbish out 20 mins later and it was gone!
next day i saw a woman with 5 kids and a newborn walking past my house on their way to school and she had my bloody buggy!
i went out to get it back and she didn't even spk english, typicall.
waited for DH to get back as ive seen her walk past before after school, but obviously she understood and walked a different way cheeky cow.

I take it your porch is an open one? I have a porch but its like an extension to the front door. The other day my DP left the buggy just outside the porch on the drive and I must admit that when I realised a couple of hours later I didn't expect it to be there! We live near a park so people always walking past...YANBU but in this day and age nothing is safe!
