I I locked myself out of my flat so often I was

  1. on first name terms with the locksmith and
  2. used to leave a spare key in the local pub, just in case......!
TragicallyHip · 01/04/2010 21:14

I left the house to go to work once with just my coat on. No bag, purse, phone, keys etc I went to the tube station to see if they had a record of the travel card I had bought...nope!
So I reversed a call to DH's work who said he would come back but in the end the lovely women at the station gave me a day travel card as long as I went back to pay for it the next day

I locked myself and 2 dcs out and after paying for an expensive locksmith to come out replace the back door lock realised that the patio door was open all the time

have locked myself out so often that all 4 of the familes in our row have a spare key for my house and i have a spare set of keys in the glove box of my car. and a spare set at my mum and dad's (about 5 minutes drive or twenty minutes walk away)

mamas12

I'm sorry but that made me snort/laugh so much I had to wash the computer screen

mamas12 · 01/04/2010 22:41

That's ok ben10
I can laugh about it now but I still have this slow motion image of me trying the door and it opening and then having to close it because to admit that I hadn't checked before calling him out would have been too much.
You are the only ones I've ever told!

"I left the house to go to work once with just my coat on. No bag, purse, phone, keys etc"

... underwear ?

Sorry, just took it a little too literally when I read "just my coat" LOL

My XP once locked me in the house - he went to work with his keys and my keys, was 1st floor flat so not able to climb out the window, I just had to sit tight til he came back 9 hours later.

My mum came up and squeezed a pint of milk and 20 fags ( was smoker at the time] through the letterbox.

Condensedmilkaddict · 02/04/2010 02:24

Memoo - thanks for the great laugh .

No OP you are not the April Fool, I am. I fell for one of the April Fools Day pranks written on an online news site.
I even came home and told DH about it .
He just stared at me and then cracked up laughing.

I went out once when I lodged with an old lady (in her 70's) and looked her in her living room (by mistake, she always liked all the internal doors locked and I must have been on automatic pilot).

She only realised when she needed to use the toilet. She got out by standing on the coffee table and unlocking the french windows with a nail file!

A couple of years later I also locked myself out of the (different) house one morning. My husband was working away for the week a couple of hundred miles away so was no use.
My mother had to get trains from the outskirts of south east London to Potters Bar (min 2 hours), take a taxi to my house, open up, get my keys, take them in the taxi to my work, then do the long journey home. Oh yes and it was snowing so everything took longer than usual. I was very grateful!

TragicallyHip · 02/04/2010 09:39

Yes I had underwear on
