to be 2 days late with my dad birthday card?

My dad is not talking to me, and is refusing the card/money (that he requested as a gift) as its now 2 days past his birthday.

I dont drive, its at least a half hour walk to his and it was snowing on his birthday so didnt want to drag all the kids out in it. I asked him today if he wanted to pop up & get it (as he has a car) and he said no, and to just forget about it, he doesnt want it now.

As a kid, he missed numerous of my birthdays (absent dad) and those of my siblings. I know it shouldnt be tit for tat in these things, but it has made me mad that he is being childish about it.

So, who was being unreasonable?

He is. Definitely. How old is he, 12? On the plus side, if he doesn't want it now, you could buy yourself something nice with 'his' birthday money!

And I've forgotten my grandad's birthday entirely. Crap! Thanks for reminding me.

I was going to say you were but having read your post I don't think so. He's a grown up and should act like one. Make it up to him next year.
