To think this dog owner has sunk to a new low...

Have just been out the front of my house (town centre location, tiny front garden, path of only a few feet leading from public footpath to front door) to find a dog turd on the path leading to my front door. The gate was open (usually is) and there is a step up to my path so the dog has jumped up there to do his business.... I know we gave lots of rants about dig poo but seriously, what sort of low-life lets their dog take a crap on someone else's property and doesn't clear it up?

Thankfully I spotted it when I did - if the dcs had run through it I would be even madder...

twats. i always pick it up. i wouldnt shit in the middle of the street and leave it there, dont know why some dog owners think its okay.
ive been known to poopscoop other dogs poo in a sort of 'oh well, while im here...' sort of way.

And this is the reason i couldn't own a dog. Too tickle-stomached about picking up dog shit.

So if you're too tickled-stomached (or lazy) to pick up dog crap, don't get a dog. Simples.

(Or let it shit in YOUR garden.)

AMumInScotland · 01/04/2010 16:36

I know some dog-owners can be irresponsible, but are you sure it wasn't just a "latch-key dog" whose owner wasn't even there. Not that that's any better of course...

coldtits · 01/04/2010 16:38

leave it on their doorstep.

zippy79 · 01/04/2010 16:39

I cannot stand inconsiderate dog owners. Our
neighbour is exactly the same.

Why should you put up with your garden being used as a dog toilet!

Joolyjoolyjoo · 01/04/2010 16:42

I HATE this!! We have 2 dogs, who have a fenced off run which I pick up every day so that my kids aren't in contact with their poo. Alas despite all that effort there seems to be some idiot who allows his/ her dog to crap in the middle of our driveway I really want to catch him at it, and insist he picks it up- if he has no bag, so much the better

A friend of my dad's caught a guy letting his dog crap at his gate entrance. He knew where the guy lived, so scraped it up and put in on his front doorstep

I doubt it was a dog running around on its own - have never seen any roaming around. There is a park a bit further up our street so was probably someone heading that way to walk their dog. If only I knew who it was I would definitely be tempted to return it to them!

i caught a pooing dog in our front garden the other day, i'm terrified of dogs and it wasnt with an owner so all i could do was bang on the window (which did nothing) and watch it poo, not once but twice in our garden.

Theres a reason i dont have pets, i dont have to deal with poo

Jamieandhismagictorch · 01/04/2010 17:20

Are you sure it's not a fox poo ?

Failing that - I can well believe someone just walked ahead of or behind their dog and didn't give a toss what it was doing.

I once pointed out to a man that his dog had done a poo and he threatened to punch me. Which was nice.

chegirlWILLbeserene · 01/04/2010 20:54

My front garden is a memory garden for my DD who died nearly 4 years ago.

There are things in there that make it clear what it is.

I have had to pick up dog poo (we have a gate).

I know what foxy poo looks like. Its much looser and smellier than dog poo (strange talent I have for identifying poo).

I have learnt not to get upset because its not bloody worth it.

Mind you if I see them doing it I do tell them (the owner) just how I feel about it.

stripeyknickersspottysocks · 01/04/2010 21:03

We get this in our drive sometimes as well, definetly dog poo. DH says if he finds which dog it is he will follow it home and then shit in the owner's front garden.

nickschick · 01/04/2010 21:07

I live opposite a play area and I also own a dog it disgusts me the amount of people who let there dogs poo where children play -so much so that ive taken to dashing out saying 'oh look your dogs pooped can I give you a poop bag'.....once whilst out with our dog he had several poops and I ran out of bags - I actually knocked on a door and asked if they had a carrier bag i could use ....its manners and respect for your community.

mumofaboy · 01/04/2010 21:36

YANBU. I was doing a stall at a boot fair a while ago and a woman's dog shat just in front of our stall. She looked round craftily, obviously hoping no-one saw so she could run off but I caught her eye and offered her something to pick it up with as she had no poop bags. All I had was a thin tissue (we'd forgotten to bring carrier bags) sp she sheepishly picked it up with that.
