To wish the oven repair man would give up!

Bless him - he's been here for over 3 hours already and he clearly has no idea why the oven won't work!

He has blown the fuses to the whole of the downstairs about 8 times

The oven is now in 3 million parts

He has had 3 cups of tea and a whole pack of my favourite biscuits

He is getting increasingly irate that he cannot find the fault and keeps tripping the fuses

So aibu to want him to concede that he cannot fix it and therefore I can have a new one under my extended warranty insurance?!

Disclaimer: the oven is less than 2 years old and this is the 4th time it has broken - takes a week for an engineer to come and am getting fed up with it now!!!

Oh dear he is now moaning 'this is all I need' whilst rocking gently on the floor. Might just go and offer him another cup of tea......

Call HQ and say it obviously can't be fixed so when can yuou expect a rep[lacement. Clearly not fit for purpose....

Lonnie · 31/03/2010 14:58

Im sorry but this did make me chuckle I got some lovely mental images reading it

No your not beign unresonable and yes I would call their Hq..

then once he is gone please go get some of your favourite biscuits and allow yourself the entire packet

Tiredmumno1 · 31/03/2010 15:05

Did he go?

loolop · 31/03/2010 16:26

Well yes he did leave at about 2.15pm. He finally admitted defeat after 4hrs and 20 mins, 5 cups of tea, 1 packet of biscuits, 2 bananas (his own) and 17 (I kid you not) blown fuses.

It was all very bizarre he started to get quite desperate asking ne what I thought could be wrong! His hq started ringing him asking where he was!

Anyway it's still not fixed - have spoken to them again and a more 'senior' engineer will be here next Tuesday. If he cannot fix it they will agree to a new one apparently. I get the feeling they reeeeeeeallly don't want to do that.

Ho hum probably should be more pissed off but he really did try ever so hard-it seemed to become a personal battle. It does of course also mean there is now no possible way I can cook Easter roast dinner for 10 on Sunday.....silver linings and all that!

Next Tuesday...well at least you won't be having anyone for Easter!! My oven is just on it's way out...it's four years old and a Kenwood range...
