I'm voting for the party, not necessarily the leader! I'm voting for policies and plans, not for The Perfect Family to inhabit No 10.

I am really quite infuriated about this, we have no title of First Lady in this country, Samantha Cameron is a creative director and Sarah Brown worked in PR, afaik. Not politics. Why should their opinion matter a jot to me? I have far more respect for Miriam Gonzalez Durantez (Nick Clegg's wife)who said she couldn't just "drop her job"; good for her! What have their wives got to do with it?

But it's usually the media that focus on things like the wives/children, rather than the leaders pushing them forward (IMO).

It's media spin because it works. Every politician does it when they think it will be to there advantage. Just look at Obama.
