To think that my dd hasn't suddenly grown up since I bought her last clothes!

Crossed a threshold today - had to buy first 5-6 age clothes. What's happened? My dd isn't suddenly a pre teen so why are there so few "little girl" clothes in supermarkets? I think I am turning into my mother.....

I got some nice stuff in Primark recently which wasn't slutty or anything.. My DD is only turning 4 but is very tall and I usually have to buy age 5-6 now too.
H&M, some lovely stuff this year too..
You really need to buy at the beginning of the season though or you'll get left with the crap..

I agree Primark has some lovely classic dresses in 5-6 that are still very little girl ish. Sadly you just have to get used to hunting around a bit more.

M and S, Debenhams and H and M are good up until about aged 7. H and M have some very pretty cotton dresses and tops under £10 , some only £2.99. dd however is almost 9, just too big for that range now but funnily doesn't need, or want, to look teenage yet.

Sainsburys are very good and Boots go up to 5-6.
M&S has been a disaster for the past few years, Asda is a non starter.

Ah, so all is not lost! Did all right for all my moaning - turn up trousers so will do for ages from mothercare and asda (4-5 though!) and nice things from next, all with vouchers. Will try sainsbury's and h and m and venture to primark if feeling brave! definitely have decided beginning of season best - stops me going too mad if I buy it in one go. I don't mind grown up ish, but the word "suitable" has to come into it somewhere!
