I now have to confess I did the same the night before Mothers day dd's tooth came out in the afternoon, we made a big deal about the tooth fairy coming....placing the tooth under the pillow etc.....and yep....I forgot!
to see her crestfallen face in the morning, and her saying "Mummy she didn't come for mine" was heart wrenching
Thanks to my best friend who saved the day by telling her that tooth fairies have Mummys too, and they can't come the night before because they are wrapping presents and writing cards for their Mummys!
Needless to say, I didn't dare forget the next night!

oh gawd, we have had to tell DD that fairies cannot fly in thunder storms cos we forgot. backed up by a letter from the tooth fairy saying just that the following night!

ha ha .she sounds a very assertive little madam. good for her. my DD swallowed a baby tooth whilst eating an apple. OMG like the moon falling from the sky. inconsolable that the TF wouldnt come.

mummie, I swallowed my tooth once and got 1p and a really rude letter under my pillow from the tooth fairy saying she had taken the rest of my money to pay for her xdry cleaning after having to go to the sewage plant to find my tooth.
Tooth fairy letters were the one thing my father was good at
