To want DD to be well for more than a day or two at a time?!

DD was born at 27 weeks and spent 9 weeks in Special Care. We were very lucky really as she had a relatively easy ride through SCBU without any of the problems she could have had, having been born so early.

Since November she has had one cold after another, culminating in two 3-night stays in hospital, one in mid Feb and and one in early March, both for breathing problems caused by a cold. In the 3 weeks in between admissions she also had chicken pox.

Since the second admission, we had a couple of days of being well, then another cold. She was just getting over than and now she's got another cold - this one with a temperature which I'm struggling to keep down with ibuprofen and calpol.

So, for about a fifth of her life she was in special care, and for half her life she's been poorly. She's so nice-tempered when she's well, but when she's poorly she's really grumpy.

AIBU to think we've had more than our fair share of colds now and it's time she was well?!

Oh Galena I feel your pain!!

Although DS 4yrs wasn't prem he is asthmatic and I dread every winter with him.

Like you since mid november it has been one thing after another, Colds that turn to chest infections. Ear infections and most recently tonsillitus. He's been on antibiotics and steroid tablets 4 times since november and had to go on the nebulizer a couple of times. He also had a 2 night stay in hospital because his breathing was so bad.

Hope your DD feels better soon. x

Thanks Narketta, and sorry to hear you've also had a dodgy winter. I've been told March is the turning point, but we're most of the way through and she's still getting bugs. Keeping positive though.

Hope your DS is also better soon. x
