Feeling very wronged after being followed around BHS this morning by security. I am looking a bit slummy mummy today but surely that doesn't mean I am likely to nick something.

Perhaps it is because I dithered in the underwear section (decided not to buy cheap underwear - I always regret it). When I got to too close to the door for his liking (with my 5pack of socks) he practically ran over then casually tried to walk past when he realised I wasn't going to make a run for it. I made a point of giving him a withering look.

Still bugging me though. I know policing these shops must be a nightmare, but if BHS are going to assume everyone is a potential shoplifter please try and be discreet about it, so as not to make their shoppers feel like criminals!

I made very good friends with the security staff at a local shop when DS2 was put on a strict diet. I used to spend so long reading the labels that I would sit on the floor with a basket of possibles.

Shop lifters don't have a particular look. having worked in a shop for three years, they look like anyone

I always look like a shoplifter - DS has food allergies so I have to stand and stare at the back of everything I buy!!!!

Having a bad week... today I am a likely shoplifter ... yesterday I got the "awww and you're expecting too" while struggling down the street with my two boys. Not pregnant! Just still got the tummy

Yup, it was a rare visit ... won't be rushing back. Good socks though

We used to know the manager of the local Boots and commented on their security guard following us around. She said, "Oh, he only does that 'cause he knows you aren't going to do anything - if he followed the people who looked like dodgy he might actually have to do something"
