For dd just 3 to bring her Postman Pat helicopter to nursery for show and tell

My dd just turned 3 loves Postman Pat and thought its a good idea for her to take her Postman Pat helicopter with her as she is always playing with it, to show (but not necessarily tell, he speech is still developing). AIBU for her to take it, or should she take something girly instead, Im afraid she might get laughed at (my paranoia in my day all those years ago there were blatant gender stereotypes). I know that she will be able to say something about it as she does love her helicopter. Am i just worrying for nothing.

Yep, let her take what she likes.

Nobody will laugh at her, they'll all be too jealous.

i think you may be just worrying for nothign sweetheart dd, now in reception, chooses what she wants to take with her - as long as the toy she chooses isn't dangerous or too small, it helps her learn how to make good choices.

she'll be fine and it may encourage her speaking

IneedacleanerIamalazyslattern · 25/03/2010 12:13

Let her take it.
DS took a cuddly toy dog in a pink tutu to nursery the other day and nobody cared at all.

mrsmharket · 25/03/2010 12:13

just realised what i said [shocked] sorry not that she woudl have dangerous toys anyway omg am hvaign bad day i think

TrinityIsFuckingTrying · 25/03/2010 12:13

you're overthinking it
they will all just think its cool
and its good to let her choose what she wants to take

bluecardi · 25/03/2010 12:14

Wonder what my kids would chose lol Helicopter sounds fine!

pigletmania · 25/03/2010 12:16

Thanks everyone just a little worried she is my first and never done this kind of thing before, and its her first show and tell too as she has only just started nursery preschool.
