To want to kill

dawntigga · 24/03/2010 20:01

DP?

Every bloody night he sings Agadoo to The Cub. It's not so much he sings the blardy song, more he sings the wrong lyrics and in my head I sing along the right lyrics! The song is then stuck in my head until bedtime. He's been doing this for 10 months now.

AIBU to want to stab him in the eye every time he does it?

Clearest case of provocation I've heard in a long time.

BigBadMummy · 24/03/2010 20:02

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me.

ANd I don't think you would have to do time. It was self-defence IMO. You were provoked and had no alternative.

YANBU

thatsnotmymonkey · 24/03/2010 20:07

OMG! I would have driven rusty nails through his eyes long long ago.

My DH wears an eye patch as he couldn't stop singing Wannabe by the Spice Girls. Zigazig- Arrrrgh.

weegiemum · 24/03/2010 20:08

I would also class it as self defence!

valleyqueen · 24/03/2010 20:10

yanbu, why did he pick that song out of the millions and millions in existence?

kreecherlivesupstairs · 24/03/2010 20:14

I sing that song to dd. Not sure if I even have the right words.

sockmonkey · 24/03/2010 20:19

YANBU... we will back you up that it was self defence.

dawntigga · 24/03/2010 20:19

Thank you, he was singing it as I wrote.

TrillianAstra · 24/03/2010 20:40

agasarecool · 24/03/2010 20:42

Clear case of self defence. I would have killed him long ago lol.

JustMyTwoPenceWorth · 24/03/2010 20:46

tigga - lyrics are

Ag-a-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, shake the tree
Aga-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, grind coffee
To the left, to the right, jump up and down and to the knees
Come and dance every night, sing with a hula melody

I met a hula mistress somewhere in Waikiki
Well she was sellin' pineapple, playin' ukulele
And when I went to the girl, come on and teach me to sway
She laughed and whispered to me, yes come tonight to the bay

The lovely beach, in the sky the moon of Kauai
Around calypso sarong we'll all be singin' this song

Ag-a-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, shake the tree
Aga-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, grind coffee
To the left, to the right, jump up and down and to the knees
Come and dance every night, sing with a hula melody

Aga-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, shake the tree
Aga-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, grind coffee
To the left, to the right, jump up and down and to the knees
Come and dance every night, sing with a hula melody

And down on the shore they gather romance
She showed me much more, not only to dance...

Aga-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, shake the tree
Aga-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, grind coffee
To the left, to the right, jump up and down and to the knees
Come and dance every night, sing with a hula melody

Aga-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, shake the tree
Aga-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, grind coffee
To the left, to the right, jump up and down and to the knees
Come and dance every night, sing with a hula melody

The lovely beach, in the sky the moon of Kauai
Around calypso sarong we'll all be singin' this song

Ag-a-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, shake the tree
Aga-doo-doo-doo, push pineapple, grind coffee
To the left, to the right, jump up and down and to the knees, Come and dance every night, sing with a hula melody

JustMyTwoPenceWorth · 24/03/2010 20:46

you're all singing it, aren't you?

nannynobnobs · 24/03/2010 21:25

AAGGHHHHHH it will now be stuck in my head unless I think of a more catchy yet less irritating alternative. BAH! Punch his face flat.

Scout19075 · 24/03/2010 21:26

Um... had only ever heard that song one other time, at a Guide & Scout jamboree. Just watched that link -- I fear I may now have it stuck in my head for the rest of the week. ACK!

And no, YADNBU to want cause harm for singing this to your Cub.

groundhogs · 24/03/2010 21:29

I recall Postman fecking Pat used to get stuck in my head all night..

I feel for you DT!

ClarksPiestoAmmanford · 25/03/2010 00:15

My four-year-old sings his own version of Agadoo. I don't know where he heard it, I've never sung it to him, but he thinks it goes:

I-can-do do do
Push my nap and see my knees

ZacharyQuack · 25/03/2010 01:07

You'd be tried by a jury of your peers.

We're your peers.

Stab him, you'll be fine.

thumbwitch · 25/03/2010 01:41

no no no aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggghhhhh - YAsooooo NBU!!

I have exactly the same problem with DH and every bloody song he sings. I have told him no judge in the land would convict me of his sudden demise. He also has a really bad habit of singing just one or two lines over and over and over and over... you get the picture.

He's allowed 3 reps before I get repetitive strain and threaten him with the injury.

dawntigga · 25/03/2010 06:17

thumbwitch I thought it was me being a leeetle bit, you know, controlling that wanted to kill people when they sang the wrong lyrics. For some reason it makes me want to do strange and somewhat violent things to them.

I find the R Whites Lemonade advert will sometimes cancel out the Agadoo, but, occasionally they run side by side or one after the other. DP calls it karmic retribution although what I've done that could possibly demand that level of retribution I'm sure I don't know!

this stupid thread made me have that song in my head all night

Darn you Mr Tigga

thumbwitch · 25/03/2010 13:08

I told DH what I'd written about him this evening - he persists in regarding it all as a very good joke and is sure I don't mean it when I wave the breadknife at him...

Actually, the best bit is when it annoys him as well - now that's karmic retribution, being annoyed by your own crap habits!
