To take DS1 out of school 1/2 a day early so he can go and watch DS2 read a prayer at the Infant School Easter service???

Do it. They'll be so proud of each other. I did it with mine a few years ago.

Alambil · 18/03/2010 00:59

do it

not much real work will be done on the last afternoon, I bet!

Do it, do it, do it, do it!

gingernutlover · 18/03/2010 07:07

how lovely for him to want to go

it's a nice idea - I don't think my school would allow it as authorised absense though purely because if they allow you others may want to do the same (this year and at other events), but worth a try asking.

I wouldn't tbh but I suppose it depends on how often children take part in things....and where you draw the line. Do you plan to do this for every class assembly, nativity play, etc. Are the two schools on the same site?

You will also risk looking a bit PFBish about the whole thing (I realise he is not your PFB!)

ToccataAndFudge · 18/03/2010 08:23

Decor - this isn't the first time he's taken part in something (although first "speaking" bit) and I'm sure it won't be the last....but I won't do it again.

There are reasons for me wanting to do it this occasion......and tbh I think with the schools knowing our current situation I don't think I'll have a problem getting authorised absence.

They're on different sites. They're "linked" but not the same school (iykwim)
