He has a beautifully printed 'Certificate of Safety Training', for personal protective equipment.

Now, I can see the sense in being given the training (though I think a dandy certificate is a leetle patronising for a grown man) if he did anything dangerous, but he does software.

I'm not aware of your average laptop requiring protective goggles.

Well, speaking as someone currently wearing one of these in an attempt to relieve my RSI, I can bear witness that computer-induced injuries may not be dangerous, but they are bloody painful...

kickassangel · 17/03/2010 21:20

oh dear! but do you have a certificate for it? I think if you had, that injury could have been avoided

I want one! Can I have one pleeeeeeeeeeease?

RustyBear · 21/03/2010 13:31

Well, of course, kickassangel, if I'd had a certificate I could have rolled it into a tube & used it to support my wrist, thus avoiding any injury....

Oh I get certificates for every course i do at work (public sector so there are quite a few fairly regularly). I have certificates for the follow (and probably some others I've forgotten):
health and safety
equalities for new starters
recruitment and selection
supervision and appraisal
safeguarding
refresher in H&S
capability and disciplinary

They go up on the wall next to my degree certificate and professional diploma, NOT.
