to poke my kids when they are asleep?

I keep finding myself going at looking at my kids sleeping, and then gently tickling their ears, or poking them or whatever, until they move. Poor kids are just trying to sleep! They are 3yo and 4mo and the most beautiful children ever

yanbu to poke them (I used to, too)

Unfortunately your children are not the most beautiful ever - mine are

oh i do that too. and then i cant help myself lifting them and then they wake, and then they cry and then i cry

yanbu

I'm sorry, you're both wrong. My DS (and the one in my womb) are the world's most extraordinarily gorgeously beautiful children ever. But I don't blame you for trying to compete with them.

I couldn't imagine going to bed without kissing and stroking DS's amazingly soft cheeks; they're like air!

Aren't we lucky mums?

BooyhooNOTboohoooORbooyou · 15/03/2010 23:30

i love just rubbing my lips accross their little cheeks.

hmc · 15/03/2010 23:31

I give 'em a poke too (not yours, mine!) just to check that they are still okay....

VKschmeekay · 15/03/2010 23:34

YANBU - BUT I must correct you all. My ds is the most gorgeous!

I know this as everyone else tells me so too

hmc · 15/03/2010 23:37

You are all deluded of course....

Rockbird · 15/03/2010 23:38

You're all misguided, because DD is the most stunningly cute, gorgeous and funny child ever. And I know this because my MIL says so and she's very hard to please

Now please stop with this talk. I have been offered a rare night in the spare room while DH sleeps with DD and you're going to make me want to go back in there with her, and I haven't the energy!

Shodan · 15/03/2010 23:38

I don't poke.

But I do crouch down so my face is on a level with ds2 as he sleeps in his cot so I can gaze at his cherubic curls and kissy lips.

And I do still go into ds1's room every night before I go to bed to kiss him goodnight. He's 14!!!!!

(And, sorry- my two boys are the most gorgeous boys in the world. That's a Fact. )

VKschmeekay · 15/03/2010 23:40

Having to laugh at Rockbird.

Many a night something or some feeling has compelled me to grab DS out of his bed and take him into mine for a cuddle. The poor boy wakes up in the morning and asks how he got into my bed and looks at me like this when I tell him he got up and came into me!

BooyhooNOTboohoooORbooyou · 15/03/2010 23:45

VKschmeekay i do that too
