Background info:

Phone my mum last week, to see when she was around at the weekend, to be told that she was here and there and asked why. I said as mother's day, thought I'd come and say hi and drop pressie round. No need to do that I don't want anything busy weekend i don't need to see you.

Anyway I think that's a bit off, and know my mother is a 'don't get me anything, oh noone got me anything type of person'. So I bought her a plant and a card from me and one from grandkids. I dropped it round Saturday morning and she was out.

I phoned her on Sunday to wish her happy mother's day she said thank you and thanks for the flowers. All good.

I've just spoken to her tonight for her to say 'Your sister sent flowers, AND chocolates AND a card, and even got them to be delivered on SUNDAY, so EVEN the right day for Mother's day. Your sister has done very well this year, at least one of you got it right.'

I think you should tell her next year you will just not bother if she is going to be so ungrateful.

YANBU. She is very very rude. She told you not to bother and she was too busy to see you. You still made the effort then she goes on about how good your sister is.

You should have pulled her up on it and said "you said not to bother etc etc so why are you saying one of us got it right?"

I would be very tempted to not bother at all next year. If she says anything, tell her you can't possibly get it right.
