... to expect a card on mothers day

DD didn't get me a card and DH bought the present she gave me (on his own not on a joint shopping trip). She's 15 and said she "didn't have time" despite going shopping last week and having time to chat every night to her friends online. I thought we had a good relationship but this has shown me just how little she thinks of me or cares about me. I'm really really upset but DH thinks I should forget it and make friends with her - how can he thinks i can just shrug this off?

So sorry to hear that tuppence606. Do talk to your DD and explain how upsetting it is for you. You may think she's 15, but teenagers are still developing certain emotions such as sympathy and compassion, although I'm sure she is a very intelligent and mature one! I honestly think she does not realise how upset she made you so you need to discuss with her.

completely understand tuppence, maybe you could go for a coffee and a chat and explain to her it was hurtful to you. It would be lack of thoughtfulness.
