First GP of the F*ing interminable season. DH big fan . He's very much looking forward to it. I'm not.

Me. bucket loads of work to do that I need to get on with.

DDs both in the midst of the most unpleasant, vile, argumentative, hormonal phase they have ever been through.

AIBU to suggest as it is Mother's Day tomorrow he takes them away. Leaving me with a few hours to do some work and a few hours for a nice peaceful bath and a nap?

My DH is having to record the GP and watch it later as his sister booked a meal out for his Mum and all the children and grandchildren before he realised the dates clashed.

Just avoid the news and all will be fine till he can watch it later.

It'll all be over by November

YANBU

the qualifying's on at the moment.

I feel depressed.

Prinnie · 13/03/2010 12:18

Just get into F1 - that's how I learned to cope with DH's addiction! It's the best sport ever, combining excellence in science and engineering with skill and talent...but then I am an extreme geek with physics etc.

However YANBU to suggest he records it and watches you later so that you have a nice day

Yanbu I feel exactly the same. My dh works away all week and yes he does need some relaxation it really really pisses me off that instead of being able to plan something during the day as a family (2 dd's 2 and 5) he is stuck in front of telly. If we do something it is just me and the girls. Can't even begin to describe how cross it makes me. He doesn't like to record it as 'it is not the same' aaarrrgghh

MumGoneCrazy · 13/03/2010 14:15

I also hate the F1 and DP is also the kind that dont like recording sports and watching them later as "its not the same"
but he has agreed to record it tomorrow and watch it monday

I had to compromise and let him watch the football tomorrow though
but he will be watching it with all 4 DC as i'll be taking a long hot bubble bath then

Could be worse. My DH has spent the past few months writing an F1 Dream Team site for himself and his workmates! He's been engrossed for weeks and weeks and it's not even started yet!!

I'm with Prinnie - if you can't beat 'em, join 'em.

It's actually quite exciting watching it sometimes and when it's not - I fall asleep on the sofa . Even our 2 year old loves it so it keeps the whole family entertained.

Yep - completely agree!

My DH now realises it is more advantageous for the family if he records/IPlayers it.

But no way would he watch it the following day - I agree it's completely impossible to avoid news or conversation.

And does anyone else think it's completely deliberate that it restarts on Mothers'Day?
