AIBU to be concerned that my wife may be addicted to MN?

I suspect that this one may get a reaction but my wife is spending more and more of her time on MN and it?s becoming a concern, perhaps even an addiction. What can I do? Am I the only husband that has observed this?

As soon as she is dressed in the morning she checks the computer and whenever I come back to the house after work she is on MN, typically leaving my two sons (3 and 5) to watch TV.

I?m unclear how often she logs on when I am not around but I?ve discovered her Nickname and having searched for her comments have found that she adds contributions at all times of day. Not a surprise as recently she?s bought a new laptop with dongle (?) so that she can login when out of the house and as such is a regular at coffee shops where she can now access MN on this computer. She may also be using it at the gym where she visits most days.

Thoughts appreciated, although unfortunately I can?t promise to monitor discussions 100% of the time!

This is quite interesting as you do get an immediate response, and attention, from others.

Lenin?

Also, just saw another thread purporting to be the wife. I know she's on line but hopefully yet to spot this one.

Anyway, whats with the two Queens comment - we have two kids!!

LeninGrad. Am slightly concerned as she spends more and more time online and this is her main activity outside the gym. (the gym has PC's in a cafe area so you can surf there. Suspect even DW has yet to be online and exercise at the same time!!)

At what point when kids are shouted at to "be quiet" as she's online and more focused on a response to MN do I get worried?

"At what point when kids are shouted at to "be quiet" as she's online and more focused on a response to MN do I get worried?"

At that point, tbh.

Tragically - there's a WifeOfFatherOfTwoBoys on another tread....this could get interesting!!

southeastastra · 12/03/2010 19:06

yanbu i don't think i'd spend that much time on here if dp wasn't at work all the time.

i'd quite like a life again!

TragicallyHip · 12/03/2010 19:07

Yeah I've just noticed...could be fun!

SonofMotherAndFatherofTwoBoys · 12/03/2010 19:08

I'm hungry, how do I get my mummy and daddy off MN to make me some tea?

teaandcakeplease · 12/03/2010 19:10

My heart skipped a beat too, though it was my hubby for a moment, but we have 1 DS and 1 DD. He has made many comments about my usage.

Like HeQet, leave PC all day and wander in to check here and there. I am so addicted it's ridiculous!

heQet · 12/03/2010 19:11

tea- me too! I read title and seriously thought it was going to turn out to be Himself!

teaandcakeplease · 12/03/2010 19:12

Clearly cannot type tonight. Sorry for typos in my post

SonofMotherAndFatherofTwoBoys · 12/03/2010 19:13

I haven't had anything to eat since mummy gave me a frute shoot and some haribos for lunch

WifeofFatherOfTwoBoys · 12/03/2010 19:15

SonOf - have a greggs sausage roll and chill

TragicallyHip · 12/03/2010 19:16

Surely you can find some biscuits somewhere Sonof

FatherOfTwoBoys · 12/03/2010 19:16

given what we spend on nursery and school I would be very upset if that was what they eat!!!

WifeofFatherOfTwoBoys · 12/03/2010 19:18

verytellytubby · 12/03/2010 19:24

So glad DH is out tonight so I can feed my addiction.

thumbwitch · 12/03/2010 19:25

at this thread - even if it's not a wind up, some of the responses are classic.

OP - when your DSs start to whinge about Mummy being on the computer again and they haven't had their lunch/tea; when the washing hasn't been done for over a fortnight; when there is no food in the fridge that hasn't got a furry coat on - then you should really start to worry.
Or you could start worrying when the only way you get to talk to your DW is through the pages of MN - that'd be a big hint!
