My DH is working away, I am shattered and know I will go to bed when DS does so wont have an evening... is it reasonable to have my one glass on wine now? (Please say 'yes, in fact it would be reasonable to have a bottle...')

Pour one for me? But disguise it somehow - I'm at work.

Morloth · 11/03/2010 15:47

I want a glass of wine so badly...I can see my beautiful wines sitting in the rack, but they all taste like battery acid at the moment. One more week!

Have one for me.

waitingforglasto · 11/03/2010 15:48

MrsC2010 · 11/03/2010 15:48

Mscombobulated · 11/03/2010 15:50

YABU you wont enjoy it until your LO goes to bed, wait and take it up to bed with you

MrsC2010 · 11/03/2010 15:57

nickelbabe · 11/03/2010 16:01

yanbu.
please have one for me as well.

pretend it's religious and it's communion wine.

BettyButterknife · 11/03/2010 16:02

Mmmmmm.... Oyster Bay... Lucky you MrsC!

abroadandmisunderstood · 11/03/2010 16:03

No, don't do it. You'll enjoy it more when DC is in bed.

I make a rule to never drink any alcohol in the daytime. I wait until at least DS2 is in bed and at 7pm have a sip of wine while chatting to DS1 about his day.

DH on the other hand nearly always drinks in the daytime at the weekend. I like to be fully in control during main childcare hours, even if it is one glass.

thesunshinesbrightly · 11/03/2010 16:06

If your gonna have a Glass, may aswell drink the whole bottle.

AreAnyNamesAvailable · 11/03/2010 16:30

claw3, I have lemonade in it too! Am a total lightweight since having baby, am also control freak so almost never drink anymore, even when he has gone to bed in case I need to get up in the night. That said, glass of wine (with lemonade, yum) went down very well.

My grandfather, and he was a very wise man full of pithy comments, always used to say

'it's a duty that has to be done,
if you can't have one at eleven,
you must have eleven at one'

in which case it's catch up time.

swanandduck · 12/03/2010 14:24
