What do you mean, is it not the autumn when they tend to invade the house?

God now I'm looking around me too, I hate the buggers!

MyCatIsABastard · 09/03/2010 21:57

really, they come in now? I thought the buggers only did that in the autumn

wonka · 09/03/2010 22:13

Spring and Autumn.. How do they get so big.. can't imagine how big they'll be by Autumn???

Did you have to post this?

Vallhala · 09/03/2010 22:16

I'll come and pick your spiders up (by hand, no less) if you'll have blood tests on my behalf.

How about it? You won't get a better deal!

Spiders are no problem to handle, likewise snakes, rats, mice... but put a needle near me and I'll either pass out or punch out!

Batteryhuman · 09/03/2010 22:18

Send them round here. i love them. they eat all the horrible flies and webs are beautiful.

wonka · 09/03/2010 22:21

Vallhala its a deal!
ANy other small creature I can handle.. just not those 8 legged monsters..
Sorry SGB but my husband has left for a night shift leaving me alone with a huge one in the sitting room... so I've retreated to the bedroom for the protection of my sleeping children..
I had to share rather than cope alone!

I have not had a single large spider in my house since I put out the conkers.

You may laugh, but it is true.

(Of course I realise that incautious boasting will result in a massive spider influx...)

wonka · 09/03/2010 22:23

Batteryhuman I find your offer odd but it is warmly accepted! Now if I could open a line of communication and let them know where they are welcome???

OP posts:
wonka · 09/03/2010 22:24

HC concers???
I needed this information when I could obtain the mystical objects.. How does it work and where would I need to put them?

OP posts:
wonka · 09/03/2010 22:25

Conkers

HumphreyCobbler · 09/03/2010 22:28

God knows why it works, I have been laughed at on here about it but there were lots and lots of massive spiders in my house before the conkers and they stopped the day I put the conkers in each corner of each room.

I read a letter in the Times about it and thought it was worth a go.

wonka · 09/03/2010 22:31

I'll give it a try and support you next time you post... now where can I get some conkers? In the mean time I'll have Valhalla move in when DH is on nights in exchange for being a pin cushion.

OP posts:
SolidGoldBrass · 09/03/2010 23:26

Oh cack to conkers! They might chase the 8-legged monsters away but they lure in the four-footed little furry scuttling bastards!

LaurieFairyCake · 09/03/2010 23:29

get some cats - my four eat anything that moves/scuttles

Kaloki · 09/03/2010 23:31

Actually my mum put conkers everywhere, we laughed but it seemed to work! I'm going to try and train our rats to eat spiders..

wonka · 10/03/2010 08:18

LOL at the spider eating rat.. Would love a cat but Hubby Very allergic.. We're right beside a railway line so maybe it would encourage the mice in?
