Being a moron because I love coach trip

I used to be a director of a massive company but gave it up at a late age to be a full time mum. I LOVE programmes like ANTM, coach trip and come dine with me. My husband thinks I AM BRAIN DEAD. Whats wrong with watching them if you are doing the ironing. I find myself quickly turning off programmes when I hear him come in. I spent years being "CLEVER " and just love being a mum not a high powered show off. Maybe thats what he would like me to be !!

i have never been a director of a company but i refuse to watch brain dead tripe. and i also know that moron is an offensive word

mangoandlime · 09/03/2010 17:54

No, but you are BU for using the word 'moron'.

ASecretLemonadeDrinker · 09/03/2010 17:58

Argh, this pisses me off. YOu like what you like. I hate hate hate it when people feel they should and shouldn't like things to fit in etc. I like classical music - not because it's a middle class thing to do, just because I do. I also like Dizzee Rascal, which doesn't make me a chav. My Dhs dad used to have a Bentley and drive it in his normal kinda scruffy clothes. I went to private school, high IQ blah blah but am more intrested in being a charity worker than something that would make me well off and earn me respect - because people generally do respect lawyers and accountants and bankers more than charity workers, soldiers etc. If you like whatever then stick to your guns.

I love Coach Trip too!
I record it and fast forward through a lot of it.I'm not even a little bit thick imho!!

BigBadMummy · 09/03/2010 19:32

You are not alone.

I used to love watching all of these types of programmes. And stuff I secretly Sky +'ed when he wasn't watching.

And then he got made redundant so is home all the time.

Now I can't watch them

My husband and I watch Coach Trip and Come Dine with me. Nothing wrong with it. After a long day a bit of brain-dead telly is often what's needed to unwind

Why do people feel the need to comment about other people's viewing habits. My MIL does it to me all the time! Funny though she proclaims not to watch telly but knows all the names of the characters in Eastenders.

SpringHeeledJack · 09/03/2010 19:49

I luuuuurve Coach Trip

[shameless]

I am supposed to be home edding my dcs- but at 5 o'clock they are inevitably parked in front o the pooter doing God knows what, while I boggle at the telly

GuntherMcKilocodie · 09/03/2010 19:55

Just looked up word 'moron'. I had absolutely no idea that it was so offensive!

WetAugust · 09/03/2010 20:00

I go on real coach trips - much more interesting. half the pleasure is being surrounded by various types of strange people and the in-fighting that invariably breaks out

mrsrat · 09/03/2010 20:44

didn't realise moron was so offensive. Maybe I have probs cos I didn't. I live in the middle of nowhere and really don't know anyone to talk about anything to. All London friends so busy with jobs and local people REALLY hard to get to know if you don't come from village or part of school clique.
