Well I am feeling a little put out to be honest I knew that they had their house up for sale it was up for months.
The sold sign never went on for some reason and they simply just moved out without as much as a goodbye I saw the removal van come saw them moving out thought about going out to see them but didn,t want to appear intrusive and they just upped and left.
So aibu to feel put out.

was you friends with them or close to them?

tummytime · 08/03/2010 09:47

YA being a bit unreasonable. There are millions of things to sort out when moving house and saying goodbye to all the neighbours is one that can easily be forgotten, particularly if you aren't close friends.

Why does it matter so much to you anyway?

southeastastra · 08/03/2010 09:48

didn't lend them your lawnmower did you?

gingernutlover · 08/03/2010 09:54

if it mattered that much then surely you would ahve just gone out there?

since you didnt then you obviously didnt feel it was important to say goodbye or wish them luck either so YABU IMO

elmofan · 08/03/2010 09:58

they were probably up to their eyes in packing etc , maybe they will drop back later & say goodbye then . And as for your other thread , i would give up asking her tbh .

notimetotidy · 08/03/2010 10:12

Maybe they handed the keys back to the mortgage company and couldn't face saying goodbye to everyone and explaining. This is what happened to our neighbours they didn't say goodbye either and we didn't know what had happened. We met them a few months later in town and they told us then. They said it was just too upsetting to say goodbye to everyone.

heQet · 08/03/2010 13:25

You watched them loading up, you could have gone to say bye.

Lulumaam · 08/03/2010 13:27

if you weren't friendly with them, then yabu , uf you were and had coffee together, saw them socially, YANBU

i only said goodbye to neighbours we saw from tiem to time when we moved, not those we'd never spoken to

Lulumaam · 08/03/2010 13:27

and yes, you could have gone to say goodbye !! maybe they have got the arse with you for not saying goodbye

Mrsdoasyouwouldbedoneby · 08/03/2010 13:31

I'd have gone and said goodbye to them. I said goodbye to my neighbours, but not on the day. tbh, I was focused on moving out! (besides we didn't move very far... I literally waked some of the stuff to the new house). Did you chat to them about their move in the mths preceding?
