To want to thank mumsnet for 10 years of service

I do see it as a service. Cheers me up, distracts me, provides entertainment and at times, fulfils a need for solace.

Cheers MNHQ.

indeed! thanks, mnhq

BitOfFun · 06/03/2010 22:14

I haven't had the full ten years by any means, but yep- I really do appreciate it. Getting fed up of the whining about the party. I love this place, so yes, thankyou to Justine, Carrie and all the others.

janeiteisFedUp · 06/03/2010 22:15

yes indeed. I've had nine out of the ten - am ancient, me.

llareggub · 06/03/2010 22:19

Me too.

Hurrah for mumsnet.

Nevergoogledragonbutter · 06/03/2010 22:19

thankyooooooooooo! from me too!

apart from providing me with a place to vent/meet mumsnetters/learn everything i need to know about my new life as a parent and about being a human in general i also need to thank you for...

deleted horrible wicked threads which were directed at me unfairly (once!)

not deleting threads i started in which i got flamed because you reminded me of my sense of humour and flaming being in the spirit of mumsnet (i paraphrase obviously)

for letting me test drive the ford car over christmas

for letting me be in the round ups lots of times even when i've said mundane things.

thanks!

katsh · 06/03/2010 22:20

My dd1 turns 10 on Monday - I was here from the start! tbh I turn to it mostly in crisis and have always found wise and helpful advice and support. Cheers !

leavingonajetplane · 06/03/2010 22:20

Wow janeite. Almost a foundation stone. What was it like back then?

OP posts:
HumphreyCobbler · 06/03/2010 22:23

HumphreyCobbler · 06/03/2010 22:25

I woke up the other night and wondered why I am not to google dragon butter though. It took me ages to get back to sleep.

QuintessentialShadows · 06/03/2010 22:27

Thanks for putting up with me.

misdee · 06/03/2010 22:27

Nevergoogledragonbutter · 06/03/2010 22:28

2shoes · 06/03/2010 22:28

yes thanks MNHQ I have been here for 4years and it has been great

WilfSell · 06/03/2010 22:31

Bloody right. Well done them for pulling it off and still having some principles. I have drunk cheap Cava entirely in their name this evening.

janeiteisFedUp · 06/03/2010 22:31

Leavingonajetplane - I was a quiet lurker for a long time and a quiet 'toe dipper' for quite a while after that. Then I had a long gap from it and then returned in a slightly noisier persona. Tbh I've always been fairly on the fringes, so, other than things being busier and faster moving (and probably more scathing!) I'm not so sure about changes.

leavingonajetplane · 06/03/2010 22:35

It sounds like the difference between the old and new seasons of ER janeite

I've only been here for about 18 months, but am enjoying the honesty and knowledge of my fellow mn'ers!

I think I'd like it more if I won a competition

Portofino · 06/03/2010 22:42

As an expat, MN has been a sanity saver! I only wish I had found it earlier!

said · 06/03/2010 22:45

Yesh, we love you. Must be true, I'm a 4 digit membership number person me. Can never stay away for toooo long. It's actually my google really.

TheCrackFox · 06/03/2010 22:53

YABU

IMO Mumsnet should be listed as a Class A drug like heroin. It is evil and hideously addictive.

Will no one think of the children?

Mine are practically feral.
