Last year, when I was pg with dc2, dh was sacked from his job by the owner of the company. He was sacked for allegedly not being good enough at his job, even though he was doing the work his boss had previously employed 3 people to do.
He did not pay dh his last months wages for December, so we had no money for Christmas. In January I had to phone him and beg for the money, we had a 1 year old, Jobseekers had not come through, and we were desperate. He was really horrible to me on the phone (he knew I was pg), and I ended up in tears. Eventually he agreed to pay one third the wages due dh, which we had no choice but to accept.
We went to a lawyer, and were told that dh had been unfairly dismissed, but as he had worked there for less than a year was not entitled to take it further (we later found out the timing of his sacking was intentional, to deny him the opportunity of a tribunal). The stress and worry caused problems with my pg, and I was so relieved in Feb when dd was born OK, and dh got a new job a week before her birth.
I was very bitter and angry that we could be treated this way by a man who suffered no consequences- then I found THIS.
Lots of people seem to be posting on it, AIBU to be so happy that sometimes bad things happen to bad people?
