to think that 'Discussions of the Day' bears no resemblance to the actual discussions of the day?

Today, it claims that the hottest threads are about the expensive of schools trips, birthday parties, giving birth, MILs and book day. Things that nice mummies think about.

Au contraire

As far as I can see, the main ones are:

  • Should you have more children than you can 'afford'?
  • The one about the mum who did/did not get chucked off a bus for bfing, which descended into conspiracy theories and remote diagnoses of mental disorders
  • AIBU to punch a Waitrose lady, except I didn't?
  • And all the random ones where people just say odd stuff and I haven't the faintest clue what anyone's talking about.

When people are arguing about something Bonsoir said about someone being fat or a massive bitchfight about not much, and it gets to 500 posts in 20 mins, it's never up there.

Very true

'Discussions of the day' is for people who've just signed up and haven't actually discovered the vipers nest that is Chat
It's to make them think it's just a parenting website and everything's normal.

PinkPussyCat · 05/03/2010 18:37

Ah that would explain the absence of a certain thread on a Friday Night

MamaVoo · 05/03/2010 19:19

Aah, the classic that is the Friday night bumsex thread

YANBU, I always go straight for 'Most Active' - that's where the slightly-less-shiny-and-happy underbelly lurks.

HellBent · 05/03/2010 19:37

You need to click on "most active" that's where the action is!
