ok, bit of background - I live in a flat above a shop - there are 5 other flats, we share a company that owns the head lease and I am the director (for my sins). Our freeholder served us with an interim schedule of works for some external repairs. I was sorting this (getting quotes, sending out notices etc.). He then came round for an inspection and ambushed me with his lawyer (I work in law so not intimidated by lawyers, but still). The next day his managing agents phoned me to say he wants them to take over, i.e. they do everything and we just foot the bill at the end. I agreed with this - I don't particularly want to do it and this way it eliminates all arguments. He ends the phone call by saying "you don't need to anything now except wait for the spec to arrive".

Next day I receive an email from his solicitor giving me a breakdown of our meeeting and asking for an updates on the works. Fine, I think, they obviously haven't updated him yet, so I tell him about the phone call and what has been agreed.

It's now been a month, I'm starting to get twitchy about the lack of progress (shoe's on the other foot now!!). I then receive a letter today, from the solicitor, asking me for an update as he's heard nothing since his last letter.

FFS. These works need doing. I've got the freeholder's managing agent in one ear saying they're taking over, his solicitor in the other hassling me to get cracking. AIBU to just wish they'd bloody TALK to each other and leave me alone?? I'm now in the position of not knowing whether I'm supposed to be sorting out this massive job or whether I'm supposed to be letting someone else do it.

Bloody nightmare. AARGH.
