And pehaps leave her there for someone else to deal with?

She is writhing around shreiking and moaning and shouting about it.

she won't take paracetamol.

she won't lie down.

she has just broken the music stand (to add to the list of things she's broken recently).

How is she now any better? Can you get liquid paracetemol into her as a drink?

Lucyellensmumma · 01/03/2010 17:24

Blimey, you need to BREATHE!!!

so, this is normal behaviour? not too concerned? Then i suggest you make her an appointment for gp, i used to suffer from migraines at that sort of age, i wasnt particularly vile, but one time literally bashing my head back against the sofa i was in so much pain.

If this is not normal behaviour, and you are concerned, NHS direct or A%E seem like your best bet.

i hope you are getting some support

EccentricaGallumbits · 01/03/2010 17:27

normal for her. just unbearable for me.

won't take any form of medicine. at all. ever.

just driving me nuts.

thought perhaps if i ditch her at A&Es door someone else can take over because i'm pretty much done.

Iam not entirely joking.

Sad Sad Sad Sad

ShowOfHands · 01/03/2010 17:37

Oh no.

One thing at a time?

Are you genuinely worried it is more than a headache? Have you tried meds in a drink? Sorry that sounds patronising and I'm sure you have.

Is and Asperger's dx being looked into?

Do you have any help?

Can you leave her with somebody for even half and hour and get out, drive, walk, scream into a pillow etc?

Is it just the situation with dd?

Are you feeling just overwhelmed or might it be depression?

Sorry for all the questions.

You sound so miserable. I'm sorry. Not in Norfolk are you? I'd offer any help you needed.

ShinyAndNew · 01/03/2010 17:40

Do you think she is just being dramatic or is her headache really bad?

I don't want to panick you, because it is unlikely but a young girl died in this town last year after being sent home from school with a headache. She a sudden brain heamorrage.

If you believely she is genuinely in that much pain, then definately take her to A and E.

If not, then go into a different room and enjoy a cuppa and some quiet.

emsyj · 01/03/2010 17:58

I would be really worried. Maybe you should take her to A&E. Either they'll run tests and find out if there is something seriously wrong, or she might feel a bit stupid when they say she's fine and it might put her off in future. One of my sister's friends was always complaining about headaches and everyone (including her mother) thought she was a right whinger until one day she blacked out and it turned out she had a massive brain tumour (size of an orange). She's had numerous ops since then and her short-term memory is now affected and she can't work or go out alone as she forgets where she is. OK that is very extreme and chances are there's nothing wrong with your DD, but if she has behavioural problems and complains of a headache, don't you want to establish that there is definitely absolutely zero problem there?

EccentricaGallumbits · 01/03/2010 18:34

She's just a drama queen (i hope) and difficult, and hormonal, and aspergersesque.

Still low level whining but stopped sherieking.

argh.

Could you sneak some liquid nurofen into her drink. i find it works much quicker than paracetamol.
Hope she calms soon.

EccentricaGallumbits · 01/03/2010 18:56

she has very very sensitive tastes. she'd know and not take it. believe me - over the years i've tried. she won't take anything at all.

ShinyAndNew · 01/03/2010 18:57

Could you point out that if her head was hurting that much, she wouldn't be shreiking because it would hurt her head more?

EccentricaGallumbits · 01/03/2010 19:00

yup. tried that one.
am making her have a bath. then i may be going to bed.

You do have my sympathies- my dd2 won't take any kind of medicine either. She usually just goes to sleep if she's sick though, so you have it much harder- I hope you have a good rest tonight.

Sam100 · 01/03/2010 19:14

This is a bit off the wall - but do you have any karvol or similar at home? I had a really bad headache at work the other day but felt too queasy to take any paracetamol or similar - was having a bit of a whinge and a temp in our department got out a bottle of karvol shook it on a cloth for me and told me to breathe it in. It really helped!

EccentricaGallumbits · 01/03/2010 19:21

got olbas somewhere. will try. thanks.
