Today DD (4) went to school for first time. Teacher and assistant did not introduce themselves to her but did introduce other kids by name. Then asked all kids to go in circle and sing Farmer wants a wife. One kid was chosen to be farmer by teacher and had to choose other child as wife, wife chose child, child chose nurse, nurse chose dog, dog chose bone until DD, teacher and assistant were left. DD clearly felt quite left out. I was surprised that teacher started off like this. Am I being unreasonable or could this be a sign of other things to come and should I look for other school?

If I've read this right then there are only 7 kids in the class with a teacher and an assistant - or does the bone get to choose something .

I wouldn't change schools based on just this, maybe they were thinking that she could have a day watching what goes on etc. and introduce her to the group slowly. Give it time, I'm sure she'll settle in (especially if there really are so few kids in the class!)

YABU, ok it sounds a bit fuck-witted, but give it a chance.
