Before all this issue with JT and what's her name kicked off he had already said that he was considering retirement from international football. But that seemed to be forgotten.

Then the JT incident kicked off and now, just as it's all died down, he comes out and says that his position in the England team is untennable and he won't be going to the world cup.

Let's be honest - John Terry was a twat for what he did to his wife. But Wayne Bridge was no longer with the woman in question while she was shagging the majority of the premier league.

Me thinks he hasn't got enough attention for himself so wants to play it just a bit longer..

I have no idea who he is - he obviously hasn't caught my attention!

Docbunches · 25/02/2010 13:49

I agree - actually, I think he has said that just to save himself from the humiliation of probably NOT being selected for the World Cup.

happywheezer · 25/02/2010 13:56

No I agree. Men playing the victim. Get over it Wayne Bridge. Let's feel sorry for JT's wife, who looks like she's forgiven him, not Wayne Bridge who ex girlfriend it was.
I shouldn't care that much either-I'm welsh!

LouMacca · 25/02/2010 13:58

YABU.

He would have been selected Docbunches especiallly as its not known if Arsehole Ashley Cole will have recovered from his injury.

It is true that Wayne Bridge was no longer with this woman but she was a serious, long-term partner and is the mother of his child. Put yourself in his position.

I feel sad and sorry that he has made this decision and I certainly don't think its for attention.

Agree with Lou Macca. YABU.

wannaBe · 25/02/2010 14:08

lou but he was already considering retiring from international football before all this kicked off.

Saying that his position was untennable just puts renewed attention on to him.

And she was his ex.

And he had loaned JT his house for shagging in, so clearly he condones extra marital affairs.

i also said on the other thread that he may not even be chosen.....he's not the only one able enough to replace trashley!!

GypsyMoth · 25/02/2010 14:11

wannabe....did he really loan jt his house?? thats funny if so!

UnquietDad · 25/02/2010 14:12

TBH wannabe I don't know a huge amount about football and didn't know Wayne Bridge had already considering retirement however I still don't think he is an attention seeking tosser (I would reserve that title for the likes of Katie Price)

Yes she was his ex but as I've already said she was a serious, long-term parnter and mother of his child - surely that is out of bounds for a good friend and team mate? Of course Wayne Bridge would be devastated about it even if she was his ex.

And as for WB lending JT his house for shagging, do you have a good source for that or is it just paper talk? Its the first I've heard about it.

mayorquimby · 25/02/2010 15:53

surely the timing is due to the up coming squad announcement rather than him having decided he hasn't read enough about himself in the papers this week.
