It all started one day when i had got my 17m old dd asleep.
It was just her and me and our do Dixie.
I had split with DD's dad when she was just 3m old, so breast feeding her for this long was good as it saved money for me!!
Anyway Dixie just would not stop barking...i had run out of food for her. So i emptied one of the bottles of breastmilk i had into her bowl and she lapped it up!!!
I wondered was i the only one who fed their dog breast milk?? well curiousity got the better of me and i did some searching online and found there were a lot of women who did this with dogs, cats and even pigs!!! Some didn't just pour the milk into a bowl they let the animals suckle their breasts too!
The more i read the more it seemed normal. I was thinking about it all night, anyway a few nights later after i fed DD i held my boob out to dixie squeezed some milk out and let her suckle away.
I didn't know what to do so i asked my gp and although he said there wasn;t a risk as long as they are both healthy!!
I didn't tell my b'f about it, we had only been together a month. Anyway I have found out i am pregnant and now DD isn't breastfeeding anymore. I have carried on feeding dixie and find it very rewarding...almost as rewarding feeding a baby.
I plan to stop feeding her when i am 3 m preg and then express until the new baby is 4m when i will feed her again.
