I was in the Waitrose baby isle and couldn't help overhearing her tell her equally old friend that she was going to buy some nice ham for lunch but her DCs would be having chopped pork?!?

Have just realised then when I celebrate my 30th, DS will be 12. That's an odd thought...

MumGoneCrazy · 23/02/2010 20:09

When i celebrate my 30th my DS will be 4months away from 14

SirBoobAlot · 23/02/2010 20:12

God, now you're making me feel old!

posieparker · 23/02/2010 20:14

Young enough to procreate but too old to be a mother!

YoungMum69 · 23/02/2010 20:17

SBA - I'll be the same, i'm you in the future!

sirboobalot I am old enough to be your mother. So behave yourself!

EggyAllenPoe · 23/02/2010 20:19

how many social workers does it take to change a light bulb?

none, but it takes a working party of twelve to write a pamphlet on 'Coping with darkness'

Mrsdoasyouwouldbedoneby · 23/02/2010 20:19

When my DS turns 14 I will be 40.... That sounds worse... At least you'll be a Yummy Mummy he will WANT to hide from his mates because they think you are hot and that is like soooo embarrassing... Me? They will ask if I am his gran. LOL (not cos of the age... just a slight disclaimer).

How many SAHM's does it take to change a lightbulb.

1

And next time she will put the kids in the bathroom so that they don't try to help by climbing the ladder behind her (in the dark because the bulb tripped the lighting circuit).
(oh yes, sorry not a real scenario).

Ok... How many pessimists does it take to change a lightbulb....

Why bother, it will only go again.

EggyAllenPoe · 23/02/2010 20:21

oh, and dh likes your name too sirboobalot - i am pretty sure he has claimed it for himself some time in the past....(or was that SirWanksAlot??)

Mrsdoasyouwouldbedoneby · 23/02/2010 20:22

How many cynics does it take to change a lightbulb.

They refuse to based on the suspicion that they only go in order to make you buy more.

GetOrfMoiLand · 23/02/2010 20:22

When I was 30 I had a 13 year old.

It's rather marvellous being a mother of a teen.

It doesn't matter that I am still young (am now 31, she is 14) to her I am an old fart who is as old as methusulah.

It is fantastic embarassing said teen by singing Dizze Rascal songs loudly in Sainsburys. Hours of fun.

GetOrfMoiLand · 23/02/2010 20:24

lol at the lightbulb jokes.

Espec social workers 'coping with darkness'

SirBoobAlot · 23/02/2010 20:25

But chegirrrrrrrrrrrrrrl whines

Cheers Eggy

EggyAllenPoe · 23/02/2010 20:36

the funny thing is that some time ago, i was a single babe in Brighton, and my bestie was 32 and i didn't think she was old at all....

now i am 32, with 2.5 littlies, i feel pretty damn old.

MumGoneCrazy · 23/02/2010 20:38

I feel old already

26 and mum to 4 DC one of whom is nearly 10...how did that happen?

EggyAllenPoe · 23/02/2010 20:39

how many sulky teenagers does it ake to change a lightbulb?

None -get someone else to do it, they're not your slave - they will bitch to at least 50 other teens because you asked them though...

chegirlshadabloodynuff · 23/02/2010 20:46

Well when my DC5 is 14 I will be farking ancient.

GOOD. I am hoping I will be too doolally to bother about bloody teenagers and their antics.

Coping with a 16 in my early 40s is bad enough thanks.

SirBoobAlot · 23/02/2010 20:48

Are you still in Brighton, Eggy? You should come to the next meet up! My DP is 34 and he's ancient

EggyAllenPoe · 23/02/2010 20:58

my social life is parked, pending payment of a £900 council tax bill that landed on our doorstep with only three months grace - due to a slight warping of the time-space continuum. I will be allowed out to play some time in May, hopefully.

i went to a Brighton mumsmeet last year, and got a bit tiddly.

SirBoobAlot · 23/02/2010 21:34

Fab Just what you need. Come play in the summer then!!
