because they said

"your invited to a party!" on them

DS was not bothered BTW, I told him they were spelled wrongly and we bought some in another shop

who checks this stuff?

I have seen on a T shirt "Zebra's have stripes" (tesco cherokee) and on PJs "Your'e a star, little bear" (asda george)

Ye Gods! I wouldn't have bought them either!

Poledra · 21/02/2010 22:26

"who checks this stuff?"

People who haven't been taught grammar correctly. Don't get me started on the abused apostrophe in DD1's reception classroom last year, which was not corrected even after I pointed it out.....

YANBU, BTW

jasper · 21/02/2010 22:30

aaaaaaargh
Yanbu

golgi · 21/02/2010 22:37

YANBU.

I'd have told him if he wanted those he'd have to correct them all first.

Coldhands · 21/02/2010 22:38

YANBU, how bloody annoying!

PeedOffWithNits · 21/02/2010 22:38

that would have been a bit mean G, he is only 4/5

My son is only just five, I'd have still made him do it.

Never too early to learn about apostrophes.

BelleDameSansMerci · 21/02/2010 22:41

YANBU at all! I can understand errors when people are typing but why make errors like that on things for sale/signage/etc?

PeedOffWithNits · 21/02/2010 22:42

I did contemplete correcting them myself, though I decided that if they could not sell an accurate product they would not get my money!

I wouldn't have bought them either. Might have felt moved to have contacted the makers (although probably would have lost enthusiasm ).

jendaisy · 21/02/2010 23:04

YANBU - that's scary.

There is no excuse for bad spelling and grammar. I remember when I was around 10 years old and the Adams Family was on at the cinema, only the dullards in the cinema had spelt it 'Adams Famley' on the front of the cinema in those stick on black letters you used to get in the olden days. I went in and told them they had misspelt it, thinking they would be pleased, and they just looked at me like they wanted to knock my teeth out so I scarpered. I guess having your spelling skills pointed out by a 10 year old is slightly embarrassing.

melpomene · 22/02/2010 09:27

Actually Jendaisy, I think you'll find that it's Addams Family, not Adams Family .

onebadbaby · 22/02/2010 09:39

Definitely don't buy!! Why support their mistakes..??
