Gosh you cant say anything at all on here without people being offended by any little thing, so you end up walking on eggshells thinking is a post that you have just written on here going to offend anybody so you dont post just in case. Would people stop being so precious!

OP posts:
MrsMargate · 20/02/2010 23:59

how dare you be offended by my flounce 2shoes
I am offended all over again, just when I had calmed down.

I'm having a lovely time, truth be told.

Sometimes, a sense of humour, an open mind and a bit of tolerance can go a long way.

MrsMargate · 21/02/2010 00:00

the strikeout didn't like my comma!
How dare it!

D'you know what?
I'm offended.

GoddessInTheKitchen · 21/02/2010 00:01

ok, now i'm laughing

2shoes · 21/02/2010 00:02

now I am very offended you made your attention seek flounce all about you....very offensive

BlackLetterDay · 21/02/2010 00:08

Someone posted that words are not offensive but the intent behind them.

I do agree with this. Obviously on the interweb it is sometimes hard to gauge intent and offense may be taken where none was intended.

scottishmummy · 21/02/2010 00:09

LOL,piglet so precious she commands others not to be

how ironic

tethersend · 21/02/2010 00:16

I offended someone with the words "This is an old thread" today... I think this might be my finest hour.

Tomorrow's task: Offend at least one person before actually posting anything.

saggyhairyarse · 21/02/2010 00:17

Yippee, I get to post this again!

PureAsTheColdDrivenSnow · 21/02/2010 00:23

looks like this thread has already turned into a thread that is about being offended by a thread.

[throws caution to the wind]

[whispers in case it's offensive]
you bunch of muppets

PlumBumMum · 21/02/2010 00:35

agree with Blackletterday I have deleted lots of posts for fear of someone reading them wrong,
the one time I truly spoke my mind I was called passive agressive
I was OFFENDED because I was being sarcasitic!

Sorry if I offended anyone

Mumcentreplus · 21/02/2010 00:52

Weelll..you are likely to offend someone...its just maths innit?..I do sometimes not bother..not because of offense but because I'm too lazy to argue the point..lol...be open and say it from the heart...you'd be surprised who and how many might agree with you..and if not..woman up and read opposing opinions..but its a waste not to comment at all..this is the tinternet ..and if you cant say it here ...then where?

Undertone · 21/02/2010 01:19

But what about the 'deepest darkest sex secrets' thread on chat?! Women have come out and admitted to stuff that they themselves now find a bit shameful, but hey, let's get it out there to discuss. Learning from mistakes, etc - and several people are now occupying the high ground to such a cats-bum-everest extent that their level of being offended has become more important than listening what the poster has to say about what they did and how it made them feel.

Sorry - tipsy. Hands up who the hell understood that?

BooHooMonkey · 21/02/2010 01:23

A wise man once said, if someone offends you, walk a mile in their shoes. You may find you see their point of view. If you don't, at least you will now be be a mile away from them. And you will have successfully stolen their shoes.

Mumcentreplus · 21/02/2010 01:28

lmaooo@Undertone must be the cheap white I'm drinking that clears the mind!..I get you..there will always be people who get on their high horses and stop listening to other posters and suddenly it becomes all about them and how upset they are...but its also up to the lurkers and minor (not that i agree with the description) posters to say what they feel..I'm never scared to say what i feel...this is about debate {grin]...(probably got the total wrong end of the stick an' that)

GoddessInTheKitchen · 21/02/2010 01:30

i undrestood that undertone but i'm drunk so maybe i jus thought i did

i like that monkey

Mumcentreplus · 21/02/2010 01:30

Mumcentreplus · 21/02/2010 01:31

hopes shes not upset I called her/him monkey and not BooHoo

GoddessInTheKitchen · 21/02/2010 01:33

i'm pretty easygoing myself, i don't really get offended, only one person on here has actually upset me but thats because she twisted what i said

GoddessInTheKitchen · 21/02/2010 01:34

i thought the same thing mumcentre

easy going is two words isn't it

Mumcentreplus · 21/02/2010 01:40

No I think its one but a hyphen can be used..lol..

GoddessInTheKitchen · 21/02/2010 01:41

oh dear now i'm really

BooHooMonkey · 21/02/2010 01:42

Right that's it! I am Sooooo offendended that I might off- end some of you!

PandaEis · 21/02/2010 01:44

Yeah i agree! it seems like there has been a sense of humour failure en masse on some of the threads with all sorts of veiled (and some not so veiled) insults, jibes and general humourless stick up arse posting of late! I think as grown adults we should be able to say what we feel without the fear of somone getting offended that i said i hate the colour pink or i think rude words are funny etc sarcasm is entirely lost recently!!

GoddessInTheKitchen · 21/02/2010 01:45

oooooooooooooooooh thats fighting talk monkey or boohoo or whichever might offend

BooHooMonkey · 21/02/2010 01:50

Don't start me with the fighting talk! You sir, are a boot faced idiot with the morals of a politician. ( and I don't care if you are offendedededed by the fact I called you sir!)

It's BooHoo or boo btw. Pleasured to have your aquaintance
