My husband wants to find out the sex of the baby on my 20 week scan. I am on the fence, Did you ladies find out? Would you find out again?

What's shameful about finding out then Fab?

FabIsGoingToBeFabIn2010 · 20/02/2010 19:25

I never said people were shameful if they found out. Don't put meanings in my post that weren't there.

GhoulsAreLoud · 20/02/2010 19:30

You know what I meant! Why is it a shame?

FabIsGoingToBeFabIn2010 · 20/02/2010 19:33

I just think it is a lovely surprise, maybe the only true surprise you will ever have and it feels like it has become part of the I want it all now I can't wait culture. CJMOT.

CJMOT?

FabIsGoingToBeFabIn2010 · 20/02/2010 19:42

clearly just my opinion though

GhoulsAreLoud · 20/02/2010 19:45

Ah, never heard that before.

BigWeeHag · 20/02/2010 19:46

Wouldn't have been a surprise for us, I knew every time anyway, just a feeling but right each time. Scans confirmed what I knew - but I was so sure that I didn't react with surpise, just a "Yep, boy, I know."

CarGirl · 20/02/2010 19:46

Found out with the eldest due to difficult circumstances. Didn't want to know with the other 3. I was desperate for girls with the middle 2 and would have prefered a girl with the youngest but I knew once I'd given birth I wouldn't actually care either way IYSWIM (or it would at least been less of a big deal than stressing about it whilst pregnant).

I was also correct in thinkin I would go very overdue and end up being induced so it was nice to have one surprise as I knew when the last 2 would be born very early on.

I have mixed feelings about this.

I had no urge to find out with DCs 1 & 2. It wasnt easy to find out then anyway.

Totally and utterly desperate to know with DCs 4 & 5. But for personal and specific reasons.

I needed to know either way and was fine with whatever sex they were (more than I can say for friends/aquantiences(sp) who felt the need to be disappointed/grief stricken on my behalf!)

The sonographer was very sure with DS3 but a bit less so with DC5 so we think he is a boy but ..... TBH I just am not ready for a suprise when I give birth.

No, didn't want to know. Meant I couldn't look at the ultrasound though whilst being done.
