With 2 DDs, its been years since we had a night away from the kids, and I just would like one morning of both of us waking without the kids coming in.

How many of us really ever do this?? How do you manage it?

I know im dreaming but the 6am wakeup is taking its toll on my face

Is it completely selfish and I know they are my children and my choice, but hey a girl can dream right??

I haven't had a lie-in after 6.30am in 5.5 years and have never had a night away from my children.

Luckily I am a morning person.

Yes. You have to wait until they are teenagers and you are prying them from their bed with a crowbar.

YANBU. The only time I haven't been the one to get up in the morning with dd was when I was in hospital having knee surgery. Luckily I really don't mind and am up usually by 6 anyway. she is a different matter and generally needs coaxing out of bed. When the coaxing fails, threats of toys being lost start and she normally shakes her stumps.

As a lone parent with 5 dc I have taught my dc to respect other peoples time and space. I get plenty of lay ins if I want them.....the dc get up quietly or stay in bed quietly, and the older ones keepthe younger ones quiet.
