How can it be dangerous to fall asleep in the bath?

Surely! Surely I would wake up as I was slipping under? DP said I am being irresponsible and I shouldn't have baths only showers. But baths are so warm..and im...so....tired..zzzzzzzz

Dp often comes upstairs to 'check' that I haven't fallen asleep and drowned in the bath - I have never done so yet! I have, however, drowned a book before but it was only a Georgette Heyer and it survived.

The day that ds1 was born,dh who had not slept the previous night, went out for celebratory drinks with friends, went home and fell asleep in the bath. He woke up in the morning in freezing water, our flat at the time was pretty cold. He got pneumonia and spent a few nights in hospital.
