Bless him he's just going through the motions.

Half arsed performance of years old tunes, he can barely sing.

He once was a fucking Legend!

tegan · 17/02/2010 04:25

i would like to add he was fucking amazing.

he performed like he did years ago but better perhaps cheryl cole should take a leaf out of his bood

SilveryMoon · 17/02/2010 07:07

I thought he was great, but then I have always been a bit in love with Robbie since I was about 11!
Yeah, he's had/got his issues, but compared to some of the performers today, he can still get a crowd going and sing well even when he may be doing it half-hearted. Which I don't think he was. I thought it was fab.

PeggysEvilTwin · 17/02/2010 08:16

I saw him at live8 and thought he was incredible. Had never been a fan of his and still aren't really, but can appreciate what he does. He was amazing that night, but am in agreement with a lot on here, there was just something missing last night.

Slartybartfast · 17/02/2010 11:09

nothign wrong with robbie being gay, but he should admit to it.
oth he has said he would like to marry his current woman, so lets hope he isnt gay for her sake?

Pagen · 17/02/2010 11:19

dead in his eyes? empty and crazed? seriously people...the man was obviously off his face! He looked the same on X-Factor last month too.

Pagen · 17/02/2010 11:22

and I met someone a while back who saw Robbie getting it on with a man at a house party a few years ago..a certain famous irish actor with a rep as a hard man. Ooooh, the scandal LOL

wubblybubbly · 17/02/2010 12:00

Oh who cares if he's gay, straight or bisexual, really?

He's a fantastic entertainer, the crowd last night were having a ball, that's his job and he's bloody good at it.

I couldn't say if he was out of it on drug or drink, I'm not an expert on it and I don't know him well enough to judge if he looked any different to usual.

DorotheaPlenticlew · 17/02/2010 12:09

Really have never been able to understand why he's so popular -- nothing against the man, but he's dull to watch and the music is just half-arsed MOR. Why the fascination?

There must be something about him that attracts all these emotional tributes from fans -- totally mystifies me though. A lot of the time I wonder if people just feel sorry for him. (Actually I kind of feel sorry for him myself, but you'd have to pull out my fingernails to make me say anything good about "Angels" and the like)

Claire236 · 17/02/2010 12:23

I love Robbie & think it's great to see him back with good music rather than that Rudebox crap. He wasn't brilliant at the Brits but then the whole show was a bit weird. Don't know what was going on with the sound. He's a great performer & I said to dh that I definitely want tickets when he tours.

nannynobnobs · 17/02/2010 12:32

I would go and see him if I thought I'd actually get to see him singing. The audience does half the work for him!! When was the last time you heard him sing the chorus to 'Let Me Entertain You' instead of turning the mike round to the crowd. Every time!
I still have the old SKY magazine poster that has naked Robbie on one side and naked J Aniston on the other. It was up in my kitchen until November DH was most aggrieved to find the hidden nudie lady on the other side after looking at RW's pubes all these years.

Bless him.

THink he has lost it a bit really.

I didn't see the Brits however comparing his barnstorming performance at Live 8 in (I think) 2005 compared with that crappy performance on X Factor this winter.

WEll, I agree with DWP, it's sad. He was a great performer with so much charm.

Btw what the hell is that which makes your eyes go mad and stary like that?

shockers · 17/02/2010 13:37

He puts me in mind of a rather seedy uncle.

AccioPinotGrigio · 17/02/2010 13:59

Lily Allen's opener was a bit pants too. Lots of great costumes, great choreography and staging but shit all substance lyrically, melodically and vocally. Proving once again that you can't polish a turd but you can roll it in glitter.

I'm just so grateful for being able to use that expression twice in one day on mumsent - it fits so perfectly - thanks Lily, thanks Cheryl).

GetOrfMoiLand · 17/02/2010 13:59

I sat there and watched all the other crap acrts in the Brits but when Robbie came on I had to go and pick DP up from the pub.

God.

slightlystressed · 17/02/2010 14:02

I wish he'd just piss off...he's a self pitying knobber...

paisleyleaf · 17/02/2010 14:06

Didn't he say on Jonathan Ross recently that he's just got engaged to his girlfriend.
His performance on that was much the same as you're describing here - going through the motions.

abride · 17/02/2010 14:23

I love him.
