We live in flats and live reet up near't top and BOTH lifts are now out of service (grrr!) , so having worked all day, came home and climbed 11 flights of stairs, barely stopping for breath! Not bad for a woman over 15 stone, eh?!

Just feel sorry for the mothers who still have little ones in prams and pushchairs or the man who uses a wheelchair in our block

was wondering if you should ask council/HA for a copy of your repairs policy and ask specifically the maximum amount of time a lift can be left out of order - perhaps shelter have some idea - might be worth giving them a ring.

or indeed you may have the information already.

then ask them for a compensation form and get some money for each day they don't fix it
