..... yesterday they had a 3 hour forest romp followed by swimming? Today we were in town the whole day from 8.30 getting hair cuts. Why aren't they exhausted and why are they dressed as pirates trashing my house?

They're 6,6 and 5.

Serious question now, how do you calm kids down without yelling?

TIA

If you were in town dd you take lunch or feed them something from there? Could be additives etc.

Otherwise, tel them to pretend to be snakes...slithering on the ground, then mice, then SLEEPING lions!! pmsl Calms my two down

You see the problem is, it's a vicious circle. You take them out, run the legs off 'em for 2 hours, bring them home and they slump.

Until the next day when they wake up fitter. Now you need to take 'em out for 2.5 hours to have any impact. And so it goes until ultimately nothing short of using them to set up an Everest base camp is going to have any impact.

If you'd just let them rot on the sofa for 8 hours a day you'd have peaceable children. Obese. But peaceable .
