Ok, so I've had a few - 7 in 2 years but I just can't get it right!! My DH is no longer speaking to me and I can't really blame him for getting mad but with the benefit of hindsight I wouldn't have bought most of them.

Problem is, dd is 2.8 and can't walk far due to low tone and hypermobility so we DO need one. Maybe I should just make do with one of the others AIBU???

MillyMollyMoo · 13/02/2010 22:19

As long as you sell what you have before you buy the next one he can't complain can he ?

I used to keep them all and we only had a tiny cellar, 8 at one point but they all served a different purpose now that was something to whinge about lol

differentID · 13/02/2010 22:20

What ones have you had and why didn't you like them, also what did you like about them?

Northernlurker · 13/02/2010 22:20

No we need more info.

What are the prams you have and what do you want?
Are you selling all of what you already have - and if not why not!

I don't feel so bad now. I had 6 for 2 kids over a period of 7 yrs and was embarrassed to tell anyone.

tethersend · 13/02/2010 22:32

Don't like any of them, so YANBU.

differentID · 13/02/2010 22:36

I work in the industry. I know of several women who have had upwards of 22 pushchairs for 2 children within 4 years.

The most I have heard of is over 100 for 3 children with a gap of 7 years between the baby and the next youngest. This last baby was 8 months old and she had already gone through 14 and was looking for another.

I sort of gave up then. There was nothing else I could do.

BertieBotts · 13/02/2010 22:41

I have had 4 and only have one DS who is 16 months

In fairness, they are:

Ancient graco 3-wheeler I bought when about 2 months pregnant as a fantastic bargain at about £25 - only to realise much later that it was pointless as didn't even have a swivel front wheel and that £25 was a lot for what it was! - Still in attic at old house, never used

Bebeconfort Loola Up - used this from birth and still use as it is lovely, nice and high, parent facing option and has a nice comfy seat. Also the footmuff (choco mint) matches the seat fabric (choco cream)! Yes, it's covered in biscuit crumbs and yoghurt smears, but it looks pretty under the mess

OBaby Atlas Sport - bought this to go on holiday with at short notice, good buggy, lie flat umbrella fold, but always hated it as it was boring black and the red hood clashed with my footmuff! Now given to XP for when he has DS.

M&P Pipi - recent bargain for £40, nice, brightly coloured lie flat umbrella fold, pretty much identical to OBaby except for colour and recline mechanism. Slightly lighter and easier to fold. Use this most days. Also clashes with footmuff and would like to get a matching footmuff in an ideal world [hopeless]

I also have five slings but we won't go there..!

Nicolaplus1 · 13/02/2010 22:41

LOL def not a prob if uve only got 1 at the min.

I agree withscreamineagle men dont use prams enough anyway to understand them!

I have only paid ful price for 3 of my prams, then bought 1 2nd hand and did a swap.

My Pliko is currently on ebay and tomorrow i am going to buy the very pram i had 1st paid £500 1st time round £50 quid tomorrow as i regretted selling it MAD i know but i enjoy prams i dont drink or smoke
Luckily my DH kinda undrstands my obsession well he realises what he says dunt make any diff

mintyfresh · 13/02/2010 22:43

Wow - differentID - I do feel vindicated! I'm going to use that example with DH (not sure is going to wash with him though)

MillyMollyMoo · 13/02/2010 22:45

The thing is no one pram does everything you need which the manufacturers know, if one of them did the job birth to 3 yrs the whole of mothercare would grind to a halt, not to mention all the new colours, designs, extra features they add every year ..... really it's not our fault ;-)

JaneS · 13/02/2010 22:48

If it doesn't work for you, it doesn't work - simple. Would you keep a car sitting parked on the road if you couldn't drive it?!

differentID · 13/02/2010 22:58

Mind, I have also known people change pushchairs because they can't be asked to clean them.

ouryve · 13/02/2010 23:15

With 2 kids, I've got through

M&P Pliko - all but trashed by DS1, but serviceable enough for DS2 until he could sit up better. Bought full price, since for first baby!

Graco Citisport - really light, easy to fold and great for in the car, but too flimsy to feel safe on bumpy pavements - always scared the wheels would fall off. DS2 outgrew it, this Spring, though. Bought half price!

Big M&P 3 wheeler jobby. Rather ungainly, but actually stood up to DS1. Have only used it in bad snow with DS2, since it's horrid on kerbs and to get through doors and consequently, it stinks from being stored in a damp garage. Bought half price

Some Zooper jobby. Bargain off ebay, tough as old boots, but ran it into the ground carting DS2 around the village for 2 years and he outgrew it, anyhow.

Quinny Zapp - given to us by a friend for taking in the car when DS2 outgrew the little Graco. He's now pretty much outgrown that, though!

Maclaren Major - because I walk 3-5 miles a day on school days and DS2 can only manage a fraction of that, since he, too, is hypermobile and gets tired very quickly. Bought off ebay, complete with all the rain gear, which is expensive to buy.

It seems a lot, but now, it doesn't seem so bad, after all!

JjandtheBeanlovesUnicorns · 13/02/2010 23:22

YANBU!!!

i dont like any of the buggys you have listed so your right to have sold and moved on,

Ive had 6 singles (urban detour, mac xt, loola, quinny, mac xlr, icandy apple) and 3 doubles (icandy pear, mac twin techno, p&t vibe), ive finally settled now the kids are 31mnths and 15mnths.

Dp complained once and i handed him the 2 buggys we had and the kids and asked what he thought, he soon saw my point!

IMO maclarens are brilliant, and ive just been converted to the wonders of phil and teds after hating them!

So we now have an xlr and p&t vibe and theyre brilliant!

BertieBotts · 13/02/2010 23:30

One thing I have never been able to understand though - the Quinny Zapp. What makes it worth £130-£150? It doesn't even recline! Explain this one to me, someone, please! Is it just for the name?
