To wear my woolly hat indoors

Got in from school run and in a mad rush to get things done this morning forgot to take my woolly hat off I've just realised I've been wearing it for two hours and that I haven't turned the heating on which is normally the first thing I do when I get back home.

I appreciate I probably look like a tit but would it be unreasonable to stick a woolly hat on ds2 and keep the heating off permanently!??

I have a woolly hat on still keeps me warm

I wear a jumper and slippers in bed to stop me needing the heating on overnight and chuck extra blankets on the kids.

YANBU, stick a hat on DS2

yes and condensation used to drip down from the ancient iron sky light.

I'm sat here in my hat and coat still!

I normally wear my hat all day if its cold ratherthan put the heating on. You are been environmentally friendly.

I've been wearing my ear muffs and scarf around the house saves putting fire on. Dp wears hat to bed too.

No YANBU. It's very cold at the moment. Even when it's not cold I wear one if I can't be arsed washing my hair. You are also preparing DS2 for the day when he leaves home and spends all his money on beer and has none left for heating. I was v. grateful for my Dad insisting we put more jumpers on rather than turning the heating up when I was a student. It meant I had more money for cider.

LaTristesse · 10/02/2010 12:27

Not at all. I do it all the time, more as a style statement or to cover up bad hair than because it's cold though...
Faced with cold, the heating wins every time I'm afraid...

My dad used to take the fuses out of the storage heaters so we couldn't have the heating on all the time - can understand why now!
