So this week at 9pm someone knocks on the door, dh calls out "who is it?" they reply its the "British red cross" collecting donations, to which he replies "we arent in" we hear a bit of tutting and all goes quiet

Now i personally would have opened the door, not called through (who does that if they arent on TV?) and given them a donation if they were volunteers and my set piece lecture if they were paid workers, however we were both mightily pissed that it was 9pm, too late for cold callers IMO.

Next morning leaving to drop dd at preschool i realise that one of my wellies has been nicked. Now i realise i cant be certain it was them, but i have my suspicions. Nicking one welly is just trying to wind someone up, its not like you can even use it is it?

It probably wasn't really the Red Cross.

I had the Red Cross knock at 8.30 the other week. I told him off for knocking so late and he said they were legally entitled to knock til that time Normally I'm nice to them but I gave this one short shrift - it's just plain rude imho.
