The belly draft I've just bought as it has nipples on it.

Now I know a bit about anatomy so I don't know why I was unexpectedly surprised when I saw them.

I am very 'disturbed' just thinking about it.

Would you eat it?

Belly draft?

Belly draft is the underside of a pig.

Apparently it is very nice and crispy on the skin but soft and melty on the flesh when it is slow roasted.

It is very cheap too.

Just can't imagine nipples on my crackling.

Ooouch at crackling nipples.

I think I'd give the nipply bits to the dog. He wouldn't care.

You learn something new every day on MN. I've only ever heard of it being referred to as belly or pork or pork belly.

I eat it quite often.I love it but I've never found nipples on any that I've bought thankfully.

(haven't had belly pork since I was a student. too fatty for my tastes now but when you were scraping by on a grant it went down well)

This happened to a friend of mine the other day.

It's pork belly - that's where the nipples are.

we keep pigs and it always comes back from the butchers with all the nipples on. I just whip 'em off and bang the whole lot in brine. MMmmmm, home made bacon.

Am starting to get paranoid that the 3 butchers SAW ME COMING.

You know when you get a song in your head and it keeps going on and on and on and you can't shake it?

Well I have am image of the butcher scoring the belly for me but not cutting the nips off. These pinky, fleshy, rubbery things keep popping into my head. Nothing can stop the images.

Am now finding it tricky to walk past my fridge because I know WHAT'S LURKING IN THERE.
